Jase Harris is ONE!

I cannot believe how fast this year has gone by. It feels like yesterday we were heading to the hospital to have a baby!

We started the day with a birthday breakfast, one of his favorites, orange cinnamon rolls topped off with a candle of course!

We had a little birthday get together to celebrate his day!
Cooked some hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill, ate too much cake and ice cream and cookies to take home!

Jase had his own little smash cake and I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that he thoroughly enjoyed it!

And then he headed straight to the bath tub.

He wasn't too interested in opening presents but he got some good stuff.

Abram, Deizel and Chase had a good time celebrating too.

Happy birthday Jase Harris. You are such a fun, sweet and feisty little guy.  A big ol' momma's boy that is attached to my hip. You have taught us a whole new meaning to the word patience! You are one determined little boy and I hope you keep that determination as you grow older. I love watching you grow and change but I wish the time would slow down. We love you so much! HAPPY FRIST BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday, America!!

Our 4th of July was pretty laid back. We had just gotten back from the beach the weekend before so we had some catching up to do.  We went to the annual 4th of July parade in Colbert that morning.

We braved a little rain shower here and there during the parade and the boys loved it!

We hung around the house the rest of the day and cooked out on the grill. A pretty anticlimactic day!! Thankful we live in the great USA!!

St. George Island...Our Ride Home...

I think this has taking me a while to write about because honestly I am so tired of dealing with it. It has been a month since this all happened and we are just now getting the truck back.

Our plan for the ride home was to leave the island by 5am so we could get home at a decent time and get things unpacked. We washed all of our clothes the night before we left so we would have a minimal amount of laundry to do when we got home. We back 98% of the stuff into the truck Friday night and the plan was to get up at 4am and get the rest of the stuff together and put in the truck and then get the boys loaded in the truck and be on our way. The alarm goes off at 4am and naturally I turn it off and fall back asleep. I wake up at 5am and decide we should get out of the bed and get moving. (I love my sleep!) So we hit the road probably closer to 6am. We cruise down the road, see the sunrise, cruise through Tallahassee and stop at a Chick Fil A to grab some breakfast to eat in truck. We get through Cairo, GA and are just on the outside of town and BAM!!  a silver mustang pulls out in front of us. I think I was turned around talking to the boys and David said something that made me turn back around and right when I did I see the mustang. I think I had some wishful thinking hoping that we would just barely miss him but that wasn't the case. So we hit the mustang and it spins him around a couple times and he stops in the grass on the other side of the road. (Really, I am just guessing this what happened.) We hit him, the airbags deploy, alarm is going off and David's truck is automatically calling 911 (which I had no idea it would do but I think that is a pretty awesome feature). I jump out to get the boys and make sure they are ok. No one was hurt and we are so very thankful for that!! But I of course freaked out and started crying as I was getting Jase out and Abram saw me freaking out so he started to freak out and the Jase saw both of us and he started crying. Lesson learned: Hold your shit together in front of the kids!

It definitely could have been  a lot worse. I think what made it so miserable was that we were about 6 hours away from home. We were closer to the beach than we were home.  Once everyone settled down, my next thought was "How are we going to get home with all this stuff?!" I called my mom, David called his mom. Everyone said they could come get us but that would be at least 5-6 hours before they would get to us and then another 5-6 hours home. I called every rental car place in the area. But remember, we are in south GA so there is a whole lot of NOTHING! Every. Single. rental car place that I called had ZERO cars available. So all this craziness happened in front of this sweet couples peanut farm. He came out to see what was going on and he was not going to leave our sides until he knew we had a way home. He even offered for us to stay at his house that night and he offered his truck for us to get back home. We finally found a rental car in Albany, which was about 45 mins from where we were. Sweet Mr. Jones drove us to the Albany airport to get our rental car. We are so thankful for him because with out him, who knows when we would have gotten home. If the world had more people like him in it, it would be so much better!!

The next day, David and my dad drove back down to Cairo with the car hauler and hauled the truck back up here to the body shop. Thank you DAD!!!!!

And here we are a month later and we are just now getting the truck back.
What a headache!!
(and I need another vacation!)

11 Months

Clearly I am a little behind on updating. Jase turned 11 months while we were at the beach!

He was a total beach babe by the end of the week.

Happy 11 months sweet boy!
