Thanks-For-Giving

We had a great Thanks-For-Giving (as Abram calls it) and naturally we ate way too much food. We celebrated with Mimi and Poppa the weekend before. I won't mention the Thanksgiving mishap that day but it was pretty hilarious!! It just meant we had more time to hang out with each other, right mom?! ;)
Trying to get these 4 yahoos to sit together and all look in the same direction is a huge task, but there they are! Mimi made them all those silly little Christmas hats. Abram loves his and wears it all the time. All his little friends at the babysitter's love it too!

On Thanksgiving day we celebrated with David's family and had another dose of turkey and ate way too much again. (Jan.1 marks the first day of some serious boot camp at the Gentry house!)

We hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving and over ate, too!
Friday we went to the Christmas tree farm and got our tree. Always a tradition at our house to go the weekend of Thanksgiving.

We underestimated the size of our tree and the size of our space! It's a bit of a fat tree but it's the best one we have ever picked out! Abram loved hanging the "decoration balls" on the tree and all the other homemade ornaments.
The countdown to Christmas is on and I can't believe it's already that time of year!

And Just Like That...

And just like that...this little one is 4 months old!!! Where does the time go?! I don't have any 4 month stats at this point. We head to the doctor for his 4 month check on December 8th so I'll post an update then!

Jase is starting to love the Jumperoo. Following right in his big brother's foot steps!
He is not a fan of tummy time and loves to be held all. the. time.
He is such a smiley baby, too (most of the time). You can just look at him and smile and he gives you the biggest grin. Sweetest thing!
He loves to watch everything that Abram is doing, especially when he is pushing his cars/trucks around on the floor.
These babies grow way too fast but we are enjoying every split second!!

Halloween

I'm clearly not good at keeping up with this thing!

We had a fun Halloween a few several weeks ago. We dressed up at work as Despicable Me (cutest movies ever, by the way!) so I dressed Abram up as a minion too. David brought Abram to the office to do a little trick or treating.

(That carpet looks a little crazy, huh?!)

That night we went to see some friends at a trunk or treat and then met up with some of Abram's little buddies for some good ol' fashion trick or treating.

They had the best time together riding around the neighborhood in the wagons.
I think next year we need to dress these boys up with a theme!

3 Months Already!

This little guy is already 3 months old!!! Time Flies!

He loves soaking in the bath tub, smiling and cooing, and loves to be outside!
He is one sweet baby boy and the time is flying by!
They grow up way to fast!!

To celebrate Jase's 3 month birthday, this is how we celebrated...

But have no fear, we didn't rent a jumpy house for the big 3 month celebrations! We borrowed it from a friend to entertain Abram! :)

Staycation

Last week, David and I were on vacation. We threw around some ideas of where we should go and decided that we would just stay around the house and get some things done and do some fun local things. Sometimes those are the best vacations!! So here are some of our Staycation Shenanigans! :)
Played a little football!

We carved and decorated pumpkins!

Soaked in the bath!

And did lots of snuggling!

Then we braved the Atlanta traffic for a trip to the aquarium.

I won't overload you with too many pictures. We had a fun time with all the fish and saw a dolphin show.

After the aquarium, we headed over to the original Varsity for some good ol' greasy food!

And then back home on more traffic! But it was a FUN time!

Touch A Truck

A few weekends ago, Athens-Clarke County hosted an even called Touch A Truck. I had never heard of them but apparently it is a pretty common event around the country. There were several different trucks there. Fire truck, ambulance, city bus, tractors, police cars, garbage truck, tow trucks, and Abram's favorite...The UPS truck!

Abram and his BFF, Ethan.

Once these boys had enough of all the trucks, we headed to the playground to get some more energy out.

Here Lately...

...I have been terrible at keeping this blog up to date. (Obviously!)  I went back to work on September 10th so that has kept things interesting getting off work, picking up TWO kiddos, racing home to cook dinner, feed Jase and Abram, find time to feed myself, play a little, take baths, and what do ya know? It's already time to go to bed! But I wouldn't trade it for anything! These two boys are the sweetest!

My friend at work got married and instead of having a guest book, she wanted this...

So we had a little DIY project and this was her wedding gift from us!
We liked it so much that we are going to make one for our house!
We had such a good time at her wedding. It was the weekend before I went back to work so it was nice to have a night out without kiddos.

Congrats Lauren and Jared!!

And then Jase started smiling!!! Cutest thing ever! He crinkles his nose when he does it and it is precious!!

Jase thinks his big bro is silly!
Notice the dirt smeared across his face. (All boy!)

Sept 17 Deizel turned 4! I CANNOT believe that he is FOUR! We celebrated with a birthday party and cupcakes at Jenn and JJ's house. And this was the best attempt at getting a picture of all four boys together. I promise Abram does not have Jase in a choke hold!

This past week, the fair came to Comer. Yes, Comer, GA! It's not anything huge and spectacular but it's pretty good for a local fair. We ventured out Saturday afternoon and rode a few rides. Abram is at the perfect age for fun things like this. He had so much fun!

And to end the post...
Jase Harris is 2 months old!!!
Time flies when you're having fun!!

One Month!

I have been a terrible blogger for the past month. Life tends to be a little hectic around here! So many loads of laundry these days. Amazing that little people can make such a BIG mess!!

We've been kind of low key around here, hanging around at home watching Mickey Mouse Club House and dancing to the Hot Dog song.

David's aunt and uncle celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary so we celebrated that and of course I had to capture our first little family picture while we were all cleaned up all at the same time. (the lighting wasn't the best)

And then there are these two snuggle bugs. Sweetest things ever.

Abram is such a good big brother! He helps get diapers and when the mood strikes, he will help feed his baby bro although it usually lasts for about 30 seconds and he is on to bigger and better things.

I can't believe Jase is already a month old and I head back to work in 2 weeks!!

There is a mountain of clothes that need to be folded and a house that needs to be cleaned, so until next time...

Our New Addition

It's been a while since I've posted. But I'd say I have a good excuse! We welcomed another sweet baby boy into our family!. Jase Harris Gentry was born in July 26, 2014 at 9:22 am. He weighed in at 7lbs 10oz and was 20 inches long.

Abram is one proud big brother!

I was more nervous about how Abram would be with a little brother. As a matter of fact, I was worried sick! So far, so good though. He does great!! We are still adjusting to life with 2 babes but I think we are going to survive. I know there will be days ahead that I will think that we're going to go crazy but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! Until next time, I'll leave you with a couple of sweet little pictures! ;)

Jase and Abram.

My favorite. Daddy and his boys!

One More Week

Only one more week as a family of three. The countdown is on! So, I thought I would post a few pictures of the nursery. I'm not a huge fan of themes in rooms so we went more with colors, Navy Blue and Grey. It turned out great! We got the crib off of Craigs List. I didn't want to buy a brand new crib and then turn around and paint it. With a little patience, I finally found one that I liked! We got it home, sanded it, primed it, and painted it with homemade chalk paint. You can find the chalk paint recipe here on this blog.  It worked perfect!

My mom sewed the bumper pad and the crib skirt. I found the fabric at our local Hobby Lobby and she recovered Abram's old bumper pad and sewed a new skirt. I. Love. It. The birch deer silhouette above the crib came from GroopDealz and we stained it. I wanted to have his initials in the room somewhere but wasn't too sure how to incorporate them into the room. We had some old pallets laying around so I had David do this for me...

Amazing the things we can do with old pallets, huh?

Then there's the dresser. I found this thing one day when I went into the Goodwill. I had an itch to redo a piece of furniture so I brought this thing home. Every time I do this, David says, "What kind of junk have you brought home now?" So I redid the dresser with a different chalk paint recipe and it didn't come out as I had hoped. But we put it in the living room and used it as a TV stand for a while. We finally decided to put our TV back up on the mantel so we could move the dresser out of the living room to create more space. So the dresser them got moved into the foyer which right now is where things go if we don't really have a goo place for them because our foyer doesn't really get used like a typical foyer does. In the end, the dresser has been a fabulous purchase because it is big enough to store all of the clothes we have plus it will be used as a changing table. I redid it with the same chalk paint and paint color as the crib. (I still have not added the drawer pulls.)

So there you have it, a mini tour of the nursery for baby boy that will be here this same time next week! We can't wait to meet him!!

What am I thinking?

Here I am starting this blog and I am terrible at writing! What am I thinking? I've been thinking about this for weeks. I follow a couple of blogs and had this amazing thought, "I should start a blog to keep up with memories and how quickly these boys of ours are going to grow up." So here we are, 11 days away from having baby boy #2! Abram is a lively 2 year old and I am a nervous wreck about how he is going to react as a big brother.

We are still trying to get it together in the nursery. It seems as though we have procrastinated a little bit more this time around.  Everything is done except for the wall decorations. (At least that is what I am hoping).
My mom and awesome seamstress made the bed skirt and bumper pad for baby boy's crib.  The crib was purchased off of Craig's List and we painted it the grey color. I found that rug that just so happened to match perfectly when I was moseying around Marshall's one day. I refinished a dresser that I found at Goodwill which will also be used as the changing table. Once I get the drawer pulls on, I'll post a picture of that.

That's all I have for today, you know, the fabulous writer that I am. I hope you enjoy following the blog as I try to document our lives and watch these sweet babies grow up way too fast!
